ever tasted milk just before it was about to turn? i just ate a whole bowl of cereal swimming in the stuff. before you pass judgment on me, there was just a slight funk-taste to it -- not bad. maybe i just hate wasting food, maybe i'm just frugal, call it what you will... i think it was the combination of hunger and laziness that sparked my apathy. but you know what? amazingly enough, it still tasted better than the kowloon dairy.
sometimes matt will email me during the day and ask how things are going at home. well, let's see... we've got the dog, the infant, the mexican housekeeper and me, the big dumb gringo: four living, breathing beings under one roof, not one of us able to effectively communicate with another (running gunther through his bag of tricks is sometimes the most adult conversation i have all day). yep, everything's ship-shape.
when i get bored, i turn to cutting. my hair. and lately i've got nothing but time. somebody stop me. i hacked off some thick bangs last week, and i'm already hating my hasty snip job. so my new fringe, coupled with my brittle split-ends, makes me look like i shoved my head in a blender, then in an oven... oh wait...
anybody want a copy of my summer oh eight music mix? it has served me well, so i thought i'd share the love. drop a comment, and i'll have gunther sniff a name out of a hat or something.

you're so gorgeous i'm sure any haircut would look awesome. i'm glad you're only cutting your hair.. in your sitch i might be prone to cutting other things. ;)
i need to send you my SYTYCD mix. it's stellar.
Where is the picture of this new haircut? You can't describe something like that and not show us a picture!
Put me in the drawing for your music mix. I'm always up for some new tunage.
ooooh! pick me! I always love hearing your new digs.
I want Lori's too!!!
And show us the new bangs...I'm sure you look fetching. You always do! :)
Skype me when you have a chance. Let's catch up.
i'll take that little mix off your hands.
maybe i'll be down there soon enough to see your new do.
I spend all day teaching scores of undergraduate college students. Sometimes running Sancho through his bag of tricks (which is embarrassingly small) is the most adult conversation I get, too!
And I'm up for music.
You have a maid! Lucky girl! I had one once and i lied to Blake and told him that I was doing all the cleaning, yeah, that did not go by so well. i no longer have one and my house is a mess! Oh and by the way, I got bangs too!! Kinda weird to get use to, but liking them so far.
You entertain me so much. I wish I could return the favor somehow.
i wanna see your hair, let's skype. and did you give your summer mix to chubbs while you were in utah? cuz i think i have it. but i'm not sure, and i want it if i don't. how much longer in mexico, 2 more months?
gunth, choose me choose me! love skeen rock.
picture of the bangs, please.
um excuse me, i offered up some adult conversation a few days ago via electronic mail and i got nothin in return. i'm officially hurt. while i may not be as entertaining as foxy boy or gunth, i have a good story or 2 up my sleeve. adult conversation is hard to come by around these parts too.
the burns family is always in need of your stellar music mixes. actually, you being bored in the past has really benefitted our listening ears!
hang in there...new york is calling your name...and soon!
are you headed home while dave is in town? if you're not, i think you should be. dang those husbands and their "guy trips!"
You couldn't pick me from a line up, but I have been reading your blog....diary if you will...for a couple of weeks. Your husband owes you big time for the flexability you avail yourself of.
Anyways, PLEASE put my name in the hat for the mix!
Cheers!
Suzy
erinspice, i better be the number you pick or......we'll get'em....
I get all bugged when Phil doesn't email and see how my days going... but you're right, sometimes it's better not to stop and think about it. Tomorrow I'll be more grateful he doesn't ask.
Sweet! I am up for some music! I too can relate on the hair cutting desires. I think I am going to hack it off this weekend...we'll see if I am brave enough. I thought if I had an excuse like donating it, I might just get it up above my shoulders...but then I really couldn't wear earrings...we shall see.
I love your blog Erin, it is so refreshing to have some wit thrown into the mix. 3 cheers for you and your clever style!
i too am ready for a good hack of the hair. why is it so cathartic to chop our tresses? you are the music guru so definitely add my name in there. hope time passes quickly until you move, and hang in there. before you know it little fox will be entertaining you with his witty commentaries and you will LOVE it!
I had the opposite problem today. I poured a bowl of cereal and icy milk chunks landed on my frosted mini wheats. Darn fridge. I am always up for new tunes so put my name in for sho.
woah. you cut hair? like anyone else's besides your own? i'll pay you... have you seen MY split ends? and also, i would like a copy of your summer '08 music mix, but i think you should just give it to me for the drive yesterday that made me a little broker.
I want pics. I'm sure you look way fetch. I vomited a little about the milk...i have a phobia. So, for future reference, how does one go about finding a housekeeper/ophare/chauffer? I will need one when we adopt...years away, yes, but still.
Am I too late to enter the tunes giveaway? Please say no and if possible rub my name over a juicy stake to give gunther a litte incentive to fish mine out. I have taken to listening to Dave Ramsey's money makeover audio books; desperate times.
Will you post the playlist for Summer 08 mix? Then I'll hunt for the songs.
Please post a picture of your mexican housekeeper.
Love BATS
